Music Meets Autism Awareness - Again

It has always been a personal goal to combine my music with raising autism awareness.  Many musicians already have done that in the past, and many more continue to do so.  Red Thread shared this information with me about a band, Five for Fighting, that is doing that very thing right now:

The band Five for Fighting is generously donating $0.49 to AutismSpeaks for *each time* this video is viewed. The funding goes toward research studies to help find a cure. When you have a moment, please visit the link below to watch the video and pass it along to your friends and family. They were aiming for 10,000 hits, but last time I checked the page the counter was over 20,000. So check it out before they shut it down and pass the link to all your friends! As April is Autism awareness month I suspect that the 30th will be the last day the hits are counted (speculation on my part) so check it and pass it quick!

Click here to watch the video or copy and paste this link into your browser.  Please share this with all of your friends and family.

Autism Awareness Month may be over.  As 99.9% of parents of children on the spectrum will tell you, this one month just isn't enough, but in that time, let's do all we can and then spend the other 11months reminding everyone again.

Hi, I enjoyed reading your blog. My name is Mark and I am the father of 4. Our oldest are boy/girl twins - our son has autism and my daughter does not. I thought your comments on music were interesting. I'd encourage you to check out my autism music site www.raindaddy.net

Have a great week!

Dear Blogger:

Find out how you can promote your blog and/or website at no cost. Really.

You'll learn how I achieved and retained #1 rankings for my websites in Google, Yahoo, and MSN.

The 10 lesson program is easy to follow, costs nothing, and it works.

See the proof at:

Best Wishes,

Dan

I'm finally catching up [I hope!] Nip on over and collect your award [Less than three award] when you have a free nano second.

[That would perhaps be sometime in the next few months if you're anything like me?]

Best wishes

There are quite a few people out there who are doing music things for autism charity. Elyse Bruce has cut an album as part of her Midnight In Chicago project called "Countdown to Midnight."

There is a song on it called "The Mad Hatter" which deals directly with the trouble and run-around parents sometimes run into while trying to advocate for their autistic kids.

$5.00 from every CD goes to autism charity. It's available in most online music stores.

Do you feel guilty because your work schedule limits your availability to your kids? Do you spoil them to try to compensate for time you're not able to spend with your children? Do you take them on expensive vacations or supply them with the newest gadgets to try to distract them from your absence? Do you pay for extracurricular activities that you wouldn't normally because it will give them something to do while you're not there?
If this sounds like your situation and you have a question for Dr. Phil - please email you're questions to at Bryan.valderrama@cbsparamount.com along with recent photos of yourself & your family . Thanks for writing Dr. Phil and thank you in advance for your response, we look forward to hearing from you!

We must help our autism brothers and sisters. We must give them all chances to feel they are belong and not different from us.
