Do YOU Know This Taste?

UGGGGGGG...the roof of my mouth is swollen to the point where everytime I move, swallow, speak, anything, my tongue brushes it. My tongue tastes like someone covered each taste bud with dog doo, covered that with saw dust, and then ran more sandpaper over them. My teeth are covered in socks - like when you wake up after an evening of beverages - only underneath the socks, is a layer of chapstick (cherry, mind you) that has found its way from my parched, cracked, brittle, and scaly lips into my mouth.

The combination of all of this is just the most disgusting sick mouth I've ever tasted. I've had lunch, I've had mints, I've had cherry tootsie pops. Anything and everything I try fails. I have another 45minutes at the office and then the first thing I'm doing upon my arrival home is a shot of Listerine! That ought to hold me for about an hour or so.

Yes, I'm sick. I MUST be at work tomorrow for a luncheon (oh yes, K, I'm thrilled. Stay home if you're still yucky. I'd recommend calling SR in the morning though, cuz I'll probably be voiceless if I'm not dead). This second wave of plague is just awful. SmallBoy went home sick today and I'm holding out so that I can live through tomorrow's lunch...then I'm going home and right to bed. Yuck Yuck YUCK! Don't fret, my loves, if you don't hear from me for a couple of days, I'll be around.

Hope you guys feel better. Its strep over here in MN. But that cotton-mouth thing is HORRIBLE. But I find that drinking Bailey's tends to help. Or at least make you stop caring.

Get well, ignore that Ex, give that SmallBoy all the loving he needs. Take care of yourself!

If you're sick, then you CAN'T go to that luncheon. No-one can make you! You'd only share it with the other guests, and that hardly seems fair, does it? STAY AT HOME, try rum and blackcurrant or whisky and ginger - anything to deaden the pain! (Not recommended for SmallBoy, however - just give him infant paracetamol and lots of soft drinks.) Hope you've got enough paper hankies for the pair of you?

Im sorry you're ill

My late grandmothers "Recipe" for ills of the throat vicinity was

equal amounts of honey and lemon juice heated on stove until syrupy ....

pour into a mug - add a shot (or 2) of whiskey, brand or the like (we use honey liquor)

take as needed by the spoonful

Feel better soon

Oh I LOVE you guys! I still feel like I'm at Death's door, but I think Death went out for a stroll, cuz he's not answering. I've had a LOT of NyQuil, a LOT of sleep, a lot of Ibuprofen, and some tea. I made it into the shower today (woo-hoo!), so that was a plus...and also to Girl's basketball game that Ex couldn't take her to (sadly, they lost). PC and I are making a pizza tonight from scratch, I've got my tea and I think I might have a touch of Kalhua as a chaser.

PC also went shopping today and brought me back two big boxes of tissues (paper hankies ;) )and I'm getting set to go drool over Harrison Ford/Indiana Jones.

I miss you so much. It's getting to the point where I'd really love to live closer so that maybe we could all hang out more often...I could drive...help you when you need someone to watch SmallBoy...be sisters. You know, the normal stuff. Sigh.
Love you.
