STILL Sick and Need Help!

No kids in this one. Just me. Me, ME, ME! I am sick. No, not again, but still and it just totally sucks. I'm no longer mostly dead, I am recovering - perhaps only slightly dead now. I am terribly sick of being sick. The coughing mostly. The congestion I can deal with as needed, but the coughing is just a bear. It's probably bronchitis, but I'm too stubborn, nor do I have time, to visit the dr. PC's cousin is getting married on Saturday. Not only would I like to feel better, but I am singing at her wedding. It's very difficult to sing the Ave Maria when you're hacking or sniffling or wiping snot off of your nose all the way through the song. Dear Readers, please help. I've tried all of my typical I'm-sick-&-I've-got-to-sing-soon remedies and none have worked. I will also re-emphasize, I do not have time to go to the doctor. This will get better, that much I know. I just need something that will make me feel better for Saturday. I have rehearsal with our band tomorrow night, I'm assuming, but that I can kick back and sing from the sofa, or have a couple of margaritas and then sing. But for Saturday, I don't think that will fly. HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLP!

Although I wish I did, I have no sage advice for the singing w/bronchitis issue. When I sing I always sound like I have bronchitis...
Maybe a couple shots of Glenfiddich beforehand to "soothe" your throat? Or you could always try the Milli Vanilli plan? Best of luck to you, and thanks for the linky love!

Thanks Julie -

The thought did cross my mind - the booze, that is,not the Milli Vanilli---

My pleasure to add your link! I'm really beginning to enjoy the blogging thing as an outlet for my writing!

Um... besides getting rid of all your pets? I'm one to talk, I know.

If you have a doctor who will prescribe over the phone, ask for hycodan. It knocks out a cough immediately - really immediately. You have to take it every 4 hours, and you'll know when the 4 hours are up. It's narcotic, so most doctors don't prescribe it unless you request it specifically.

If you can't get that, take Robitussin PE PLUS Alka Seltzer cold. You will be completely dried up, but it will keep the cough under control temporarily. It's a drastic measure and against every doctor recommendation, but my old voice teacher told me about it and it works. It has to be Robitussin PE.

Good luck!
